The Best Christmas Movies
Christmas movies are a vital part of making Christmas feel like Christmas. The great thing about Christmas movies is that there's hardly any bad ones and so many great ones! Below I will go over the best Christmas movies in my opinion and why.
5. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Christmas vacation starring Chevy Chase is an absolute laugh fest from beginning to end. The constant misfortunes the Griswolds endured during Christmas are hilarious! This movie has so many specifically memorable scenes and quotable lines. I haven't met someone who hasn't laughed until they cried watching this movie.
4. Home Alone
This movie should be on everyone's list to watch every time Christmas comes around. This film starring Macaulay Culkin is about how he is left behind at home by accident while the rest of his family goes on Christmas vacation. He then has to set up traps to fend off intruders trying to break into his home. Although the plot doesn't sound funny, this is also a great Christmas comedy from beginning to end.
3. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
This stop motion1964 film is a Christmas classic. Inspired by the classic song, this movie is a heartfelt joy. This story is about an outcast reindeer that eventually gets to guide Santa's sleigh. The stop motion is what really makes this film special. It's something you don't see much nowadays, but it's still nostalgic to look at.
2. A Christmas Story
Often people's most treasured Christmas movie, this makes my number 2 spot. This movie also has classic lines and iconic scenes. From leg lamps to BB guns, this movie's imagery is still seen today every holiday season! When you watch this film you will be smiling constantly. The charming cast and relatable scenes are what jumps this move to the top of many people's favorite Christmas movies.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas
This is the absolute best Christmas movie in my opinion. Jim Carrey absolutely steals the show in this film and puts on an incredible performance as the Grinch. Inspired by the iconic Dr. Seuss book, this movie has everything you want in a Christmas movie. From it's great story, wonderful set design and costumes, amazing acting, and memorable Christmas songs, this movie has everything a Christmas movie should have! This movie is not only hilarious, but it has a heartwarming ending. I cannot recommend this movie enough, and I make sure to watch it every year!
